- Select club based on needs. If more role than flight is needed use a less lofted club (like 7 iron)
- Grip
- Hands slightly ahead of the ball
- Grip like putter (light)
- No tension in arms
- Choke down for extra control
- Address
- Ball is slightly back of center
- Posture
- Back straight (do not hunch)
- Stance
- Keep center of gravity at or above ball (don’t lean back)
- Flex knees
- Narrow stance
- Open stance toward target line
- Swing
- Start backswing with shoulder and allow arms and hands to follow
- Hit down in the back of the ball
- Return arms where they were at address, which means hands ahead of the ball (no scooping)
- If in rough, upright back swing and swing down
- Landing Golf Ball
- If slope, land on the down slope or flat portion
- Practice
- Practice with ball in front of your stance, put a stick six inches behind it, hit the ball
